At the time I initially wrote this, I hadn't thought to add them, but you are so right in that Islam - in its pure form - is feminist and protects women's rights to a far greater extent than other religions did when it was founded. Culturally, women's rights have been an issue, and I only wish more people realized it's not Islam's fault so much as the cultures in which these people grew up.

The big problem, though, is navigating a banking system that does believe in interest and other charges; I know as a Western Muslim, it's been difficult to reconcile my beliefs with the banks I use. (It's still a good point! I'm just wondering how Muslim characters in jamjars would negotiate this, as this was something I only learned recently myself.)
